Weekend

On doyobi, I drank at Yakitori on St. Mark's. If you haven't been there, the whole motif is Japanese. Japanese food and drink. Pretty cheap too. It was nice to be able to read the hiragana on the menu. What used to be an alien set of symbols is now only a third alien. (I haven't learned katakana nor kanji yet.) I also went to Forbidden City the night before on kinyobi, another bar in alphabet city, which didn't feel as Japanese as Yakitori because of its more modern design, but still had all different kinds of sake. Dry, sweet, warm, cold. I recommend both places. And remember kids, don't drink and drive.

My First Blog

Hajime Mashite. Watashi wa Henry desu. Watashi wa Kankoku jin desu. Ninensei desu. Niju yonsai desu.

Welcome to my first blog.
My legal name is Hye Keun, but I've been going by Henry for most of my life.
I decided to take this class because I want to become fluent in Nihon go. I've decided to major in East Asian Languages and Cultures, and although I've already fulfilled my language requirement in Kankoku go, I want to be able to travel all over east Asia and be able to speak the language where ever I am.
The reason for the time gap between high school and college is because I've spent four years serving in the United States Marine Corps. It was a great experience that has dramatically influenced my life.
Until next time. Ja mata ashita.
